JX Truck Center - Bolingbrook is a subsidiary of JX Enterprises, Inc. We have 24 dealerships in 4 states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. As of this posting, the Bolingbrook dealership has approximately 60 employees in all of their departments.

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Field Service Technician Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; and keeping records. This is mainly scheduled work at our customer's shops - not work done on the side of the road. This is a Monday - Friday, first shift position.

Pay: $23.00 - $35.00/hr. (based on education, experience, # of OEM certifications, skill set, etc.) + UNCAPPED Service Technician Incentive Program

Shift: 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday)

Shift Premium: Any hours worked/work performed Monday - Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 5:59 a.m., and/or any hours worked on weekends (Saturday/Sunday), will be paid a shift differential of 15% of your base wage.

Mobile Service Technician Premium: $5.00/hr. (on top of base wage)

Working Arrangement: Mobile (at customer's shops mainly)

Performance Objectives

  • Perform all levels of maintenance services
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned

Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school or college education in a diesel technology program preferred.
  • 2-5 years related work experience preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge required.
  • Valid Driver's License required; CDL preferred (must be willing to obtain).
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required.

High School or GED of General (required)
Technical/other training of Diesel Technology (preferred)

Experience
2 years: Diesel Mechanic/Technician (required)
