Job Description:

Microchip FPGA BU is looking for a talented, passionate and creative individual to join our new product development team. The candidate will support the Characterization group through the phases of releasing new products to the market. This position offers technical insight into the vast knowledge of developing and testing semiconductor IC's and will provide opportunities to work closely with silicon design engineers, software engineers and technology development engineers. Skills will be developed to work on multiple projects supporting key functions within the organization. Design of experiments, analysis of results and presentation skills will be developed.

The employee will be tasked with the following:

  • Characterize and validate both digital and analog circuits such as SRAMs, PLLs, Serdes, IOs, FPGAs, Voltage detectors, oscillator,...
  • Develop scripts, RTL designs and embedded firmware to characterize FPGA and SOC components.
  • Validate FPGA timing and power models and correlating pre-silicon results with silicon measurements.
  • Debug silicon issues by designing experiments to achieve root cause
  • Result analysis and characterization report generation

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • 0-3 years experience in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Knowledge of solid state physics and microelectronics is required.
  • Skilled with scripting languages like TCL/PERL/Python, C and C++ , and visual basic programming.
  • Knowledge of RTL (Verilog or VDHL).
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Result driven.
  • Methodical and organized.

Pay Range:

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $66,560 - $128,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
