As the Chief Electrical Engineer here's the work you'll do:
  • Lead projects and support and assist engineers with complex technical issues on other projects
  • Develop and update department standards; lead the overall technical development of the department's employees
  • Develop and oversee training within the department
  • Help to win new work, assist business development, create positive client relationships; Write technical articles for journals or other technical publications
  • Assist Director / Deputy Director with proposals, departmental issues, and operations; develop and update processes for design and delivery of services Perform ITRs and other tasks as required Complying with data protection principles while handling personal, protected and / or Covered Defense Information on behalf of Day & Zimmermann. Data Handlers should be trained to follow documented policies, standard operating procedures and secure practices associated with protecting trusted employee and customer data
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of electrical and telecommunications principles, building codes, industry standards, and client specific requirements and how they apply to electrical designs. Knowledge of business and management principles and processes for providing client services; Innovative and able to come up with new ideas and better ways of doing things. Skilled in developing and coordinating training within the department.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, solving complex problems, and using good judgment in decision making
  • Interpersonal savvy and willingness/ability to communicate effectively (oral and writing) with M&H team members as well as clients; able to take direction and guidance from leadership within the company, and able to provide direction and guidance to less senior staff within department
  • Expected to proactively and independently develop and implement solutions to technical and process problems throughout department. Partners with others to identify problems, generate solutions and implement improvements. Accountable for maintaining and improving technical quality and production efficiency of the department. Expected to increase department capability through technical growth and/or development of new skills that can command additional revenue for the company. Significant investment into staff development to ensure active progression and succession of department staff on current and future project assignments. Responsibility includes all disciplines within department (electrical and telecommunications).
  • Must build trusted relationships with department through maintaining ownership for assigned work and delivering efficient and high quality results. Expected to be a proactive learner, responsible to seek out support when needed, identify expectations, check own work output against quality expectations, and pursue opportunities to grow technical capabilities. Maintains professional humility and respect in partnership with all team members in pursuit of overall project success. Is expected to know their own technical limitations and proactively seek out support where needed. Other duties as assigned. Data privacy, information security and policy compliance
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Degree must be ABET accredited, or acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) preferred; LEED AP certification preferred
  • Professional License in Electrical Engineering required
  • US citizenship; ability to obtain a TS security clearance
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of drug and background screening process.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $124,080 - $186,120.This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
