Under the general direction of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Safety Manager plans, coordinates, implements and manages all aspects of Safety and related compliance. The Manager collaborates with various departments to ensure EOC, Safety, Hazardous Communications, and associated management plans and programs consistently meet all government and regulatory agency standards. Develops and administers policies and procedures. Establishes and implements safety standards and ethics for the department.

Required qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in an acute care setting
  • 3 years of experience in a Safety supervisor/leadership role

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant field, from a recognized accredited 4-year college or university.
  • 5 years of experience in Safety Department or Facilities Services in a California acute care facility, including responsibilities for compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care Standards for new and existing healthcare facilities, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 99 Hospital Code, Cal OSHA, HCAI compliance, and demonstrated successful completion of TJC or equivalent accreditation survey(s).
