Principal Product Manager - Next Generation Network

Job Summary

The Equinix Fabric team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to help drive the design and development of our next generation of network infrastructure and services. Having a deep understanding of the Equinix Fabric backbone and its current offerings you will work to understand customer business needs, current and next-gen use cases (ex. AI) and develop a roadmap and strategy to support our customers' next-generation networking needs. Maintain customer requirements, use cases, and work closely with network engineers to test, design, and procure this next wave of technology. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategy by taking responsibility for developing business cases for the product and network roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the product strategy in support of the new Equinix Fabric network design and implementation efforts

  • Build knowledge of common Equinix Fabric use cases for networking services and work with network engineering to ensure there is alignment with the design.

  • Partner with Solutions Architects and Sales to meet with interested customers to help communicate the overall value of the Fabric backbone/network and understand their business needs to help shape the direction of the product.

  • Partner with Network Infrastructure and Architecture team in advancing network infrastructure products and features such as Network as a Service (NaaS).

  • Partner with UX, solution architects, and engineering to ideate solutions, placing a premium on user experience.

  • Validate ideas with customers before, during, and after development.

  • Manage the backlog: Prioritize critical features based on analysis of the business opportunity vs level of effort.

  • Define metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive user experience improvements.

  • Perform pricing evaluation and coordinate price changes.

  • Collaborate with product engineering, network architects, network deployment, and service delivery teams in the rollout of new offerings, releases, and markets.

  • Design product training curriculum; participate in cross-functional training and meetings.

  • Run the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities; establish and monitor critical metrics; implement course corrections as needed.

  • Provide customer and partner briefings and serve as an evangelist.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a software defined network infrastructure product management role or a combination of 5 years of product management and experience in software network engineering/architecture

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or relevant field of study; MBA preferred.

  • Experienced building complex software for Cloud Networks and NaaS; deep, end-to-end experience building cloud technologies: CSPs (Cloud Service Provider), NaaS, virtualization, networking, etc.

  • Knowledge of data center digital infrastructure capabilities and the value of interconnection within this ecosystem.

  • Passion for learning & mastering new technologies and bringing them together to build end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs.

  • 10-15% travel for external or internal meetings and industry conferences.

  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $139,000 to $237,000 per year


Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
