Job Description


Parametrix, a best-in-class engineering, environmental sciences, and planning consulting firm, has an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Transportation Engineering Manager to join our California team. This position will support continued development of our transportation practice with a focus on project management, business development and client stewardship, and supporting mentorship of our existing team. We are based in Berkeley and offer flexibility for remote work two days per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for project delivery, project performance, and profitability. Work proactively with leadership to effectively communicate project successes and resolve individual project and/or client concerns.
  • Provide mentorship, development, and support growth of the Transportation team in California, including on active transportation, Complete Street, safety, traffic engineering, and civil engineering design projects.
  • Facilitate and develop top client relationships. Act as a primary contact with specific clients to ensure services are meeting their needs and expectations.
  • Establish and lead relationships with key teaming partners.
  • Collaborate with transportation leaders at Parametrix regarding firm-wide technical skills, project delivery and strategic pursuits.
  • Identify and lead strategic project pursuits for transportation planning, civil engineering, preliminary design, traffic and/or other relevant transportation projects. Monitor and maintain activities regarding leads and opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience and proven consulting experience and leadership in the A/E industry specializing in transportation engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. California PE required. TE/PTOE certification is beneficial.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement and selection processes, particularly in the California market region.
  • Established professional relationships with strategic clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other business lines to position Parametrix for the pursuit of major business leads.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Base salary for this position is in the range of $180,000-$230,000. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, location, and role. For all positions we conduct an equity review. Employee-owners are all eligible for performance-based bonuses based on key contributions. Salaries are reviewed at least once annually as part of our compensation program.
