General Summary of the Position Reports to Project Manager and performs daily site supervision of company employees and subcontractors at Environmental remediation and construction projects. Responsible for employee and subcontractor compliance with Site Health and Safety Plan. Responsible for project quality control. Tracks time of employees and directs employees in safe and proper procedures and follows Kemron SOPs for activities. Must have basic knowledge of earthwork; excavation, grading and Backfill.
Salary Range Hourly rate commensurate with skills and experience
Essential Functions
Manage employees and subcontractor day-to-day activities
Communicate with Project Manager
Complete and submit daily, weekly and monthly written reports to the Project Manager
Maintain project schedule
Track project budget and approve subcontractor invoices
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Project Manager and/or corporate Health and Safety Director
Must be willing to travel up to 90%
Physical Work Activities and Exposure
Must be able to move around the site in conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in environmental remediation and construction work
Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Education, Training and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
3 years’ experience as Construction Superintendent or similar position
40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste worker training is required
Certified first aid and CPR training preferred
Special Requirements
Must possess valid and appropriate state driver’s license and have good driving history approved by Kemron’s insurance carrier that qualifies employee to drive company vehicles.
Must understand and sign-off on Corporate and worksite Health and Safety Plan(s)
Direct “tailgate” safety meeting when required
