Position Description

We're looking for a full-time, staff Director, Union Welding Services to join our Day & Zimmermann team.

Ensures P&L adherence to the current GPP/Business Plan and executive management of the Union Welding Services Division including contracts and specialty groups. Shares responsibility with VP of Welding of all aspects of the relationship between the customer and DZMC business and for taking the necessary actions to improve and strengthen those relationships. Works to establish and maintain welding programs and processes, establish and maintain a pool of diverse welding personnel and staff, maintain current welding business and develop new welding business for D&Z.

As the Director Union Welding Services, here's the work you'll do:

* Establishes and maintains effective strategic and senior customer relationships (including labor) to support the successful completion of the project or contract, while serving as strategic business partner with the ability to identify opportunities for value add activities and continuous improvement

* Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and provide leadership through establishing expectations and accountability related to the execution of an effective Customer and D&Z safety program for all clients/sites

* Review company objectives and estimates man-hour and skill requirements to accomplish objectives while preparing and/or assisting other departments. Oversees Manager of Operations planning of staffing requirements per the manpower forecasts for all aspects of operations in all areas of the company

* Coordinates with other departments, organizational units including contractors. Arrange for and coordinates the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, tools, etc to maintain a sufficient supply for current and forecasted needs

* Prepares cost estimates and evaluates capabilities of in-house versus outside contractors and presents status reports * Identifies, attracts, develops, and retains talent through effective employee engagement, communication, and performance management

This role is for you if you have these skills:

* Technical/Industry Expertise- Demonstrated background in welding and/or welding services including familiarity with the various codes and standards governing welding operations including the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, AWS Standards, and the NBIC. Strong knowledge and experience in project management, preferably at the field or site level. Can execute both projects and O&M scopes of work. Expert knowledge of the welding industry and demonstrated technical welding acumen

* Operations Savvy- Action oriented; can be counted on to consistently exceed goals; bottom-line oriented; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; pushes others for results and holds them accountable; works through others to achieve results; maintains big-picture view of key projects and initiatives without getting lost in the details

* Business/Financial Acumen- Understands how the business works including drivers of cost and revenue; able to understand and work with key financial measurements to analyze the business; able to develop actions to correct financial performance; knows the marketplace and understands how business strategies and tactics impact marketplace perception. Ability to put together a strategy that establishes organizational goals and defines measures to ensure achievement of goals

* Builds Strategic Client Relationships- Develops and sustains effective long-term business relationships with people, especially at senior levels (internally and externally) to create value and influence customer buying patterns and increase sales revenue growth and market share

* Communicates with Impact- Clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action

And if you have these qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred

* 15+ years of relevant operations and welding industry experience

* Demonstrated ability to work with union craft leadership where applicable (closed shop positions)

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $163,680 - $245,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
