Job Description

Datavant is a data logistics company for healthcare whose products and solutions enable organizations to move and connect data securely. We are a data logistics company for healthcare whose products and solutions enable organizations to move and connect data securely. Datavant has a network of networks consisting of thousands of organizations, more than 70,000 hospitals and clinics, 70% of the 100 largest health systems, and an ecosystem of 500+ real-world data partners.

By joining Datavant today, you're stepping onto a highly collaborative, remote-first team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare. We hire for three traits: we want people who are smart, nice, and get things done. We invest in our people and believe in hiring for high-potential and humble individuals who can rapidly grow their responsibilities as the company scales. Datavant is a distributed, remote-first team, and we empower Datavanters to shape their working environment in a way that suits their needs.

Leveraging AI to improve the speed and accuracy of medical record exchange.

Today, STORK (a.k.a. Structured Text Outputting Request Knowledge) is focused on accelerating the path of tens of millions of requests through our system by automating the extraction of key information from medical record request letters. We take in PDFs, and output structured text representing the key information in the request letter (e.g. patient name, records being requested, dates of service, etc). This information flows into our workflow system to be manually reviewed prior to requests getting fulfilled. We use a combination of OCR, fine-tuned LLMs, and other ML models to accomplish this task.

Tomorrow, STORK is taking on the next challenge in further securing and accelerating the exchange of medical information. There are several opportunities to take and expand on this product into new areas for Datavant to help our provider customers better manage the flow of healthcare information through their systems, and reduce time to providing better care for their patients.
