The role of the Engineer IV in the US Coast Guard Implementation and Sustainment support team is to provide day-to-day program support to NIWC. The position requires an experienced network expert to support the project. This position will work out of the Chesapeake, VA area. Occasional travel may be required.

Work Model: Onsite/Office-based

• Provide direct support to the IT Services team lead including the government sponsor and his/her managers on a daily basis.
• Assist with the design and configuration of network infrastructures.
• Promote and maintain communication between the project team and project sponsor, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain and upgrade existing network systems.
• Assist and advise with stakeholders on system design and upgrades, administration, network performance monitoring, network architecture, virtualization, and hardware management as needed or required.
• Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have a SECRET security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment
• Twelve (12) years of experience in Navy and or Coast Guard C4ISR systems, to include Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design, Definition, Development of Systems Specifications, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements. Recognized as an expert in naval networking or C4ISR systems. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Be willing to travel up to 25%.
