Overall Purpose


The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications plans and creating content in alignment with the company's strategic objectives to drive employee engagement and enhance its culture and reputation.

Essential Functions

  • Supports Early Warning's internal communication efforts, with responsibility for content development, channel management and employee engagement.
  • Creates inspiring and engaging written and video content that highlights leaders, executives and, employees.
  • Publishes and schedules pre-approved communications across various internal channels, including company intranet, email, Microsoft Teams, and office digital signage.
  • Manages interactive events and meetings, including leader Town Halls, videos and written communication.
  • Assists in developing internal workshops and webinars to enhance communication skills for leaders and employees.
  • Identifies and develops new communications channels/platforms to enhance internal capabilities and connects with employees in more ways.
  • Partners with the design team to produce visual elements, such as infographics and explainer videos, to support communications.
  • Partners with External Communications, Executive Communications and Social Media team on company announcements, integrated campaigns and news events to ensure employee awareness and message alignment.
  • Tracks KPIs to measure the effectiveness of internal strategies and campaigns.
  • Analyzes data and feedback to refine communication approaches and tactics.
  • Understands and advises the business about employee communication trends.
  • Develops internal crisis response strategies, reactive statements, FAQs, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Sets and manages internal communications calendar, and bi-weekly reporting in coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with internal comms vendors and agency relationships, including invoice processing, and budget tracking.
  • Participates in compiling and sending the daily internal news emails to inform and educate employees (shared responsibility).
  • Supports the Company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education or experience typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of communications strategy and execution.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with working knowledge of AP style and ability to synthesize and explain complex information.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to organize/prioritize work and meet deadlines, with excellent project management skills.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools and ROI reporting.
  • Adept at maintaining multiple concurrent timelines with competing priorities, while remaining flexible and adapting quickly to changing needs.
  • Ability to work with limited guidance in support of multiple stakeholders.
  • Possess highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and trust throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a high level of personal and professional integrity with ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong problem solving and consensus building skills.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines with the ability to produce well-written communications quickly.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US National
  • Background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record in a high-growth or technology-driven environment.
  • Proficient in editing both video and audio content, including podcasts.
  • Experience within the financial services or payments industry.
  • Experience in crisis and issues management.
  • Experience with well-known household brands known for their strong and distinct cultures.
  • Previous agency experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The pay scale for this position in:

New York, NY in USD per year is: $120,000 - $140,000.
