Job Description

Summary:

The Category Sourcing Manager (CSM) is responsible for managing activities in support of Accuray's long-term Supply Chain, Sourcing, and new product development strategies. The Category Sourcing Manager facilitates efforts for supplier selection and management of supplier relationships and performance to ensure the uninterrupted flow of high-quality, cost-competitive goods and services to support both manufacturing and customer support operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership and development of a strategic plan for the Electronics Category and other assigned categories, including their associated suppliers. Ensures the strategic plan will be aligned with company's Supply Chain goals and objectives for cost, quality, delivery, risk, Long Term Agreements (LTAs), safety, change management, and New Product Introduction (NPI). Develops global supply base by identifying, evaluating, and selecting second source suppliers. Creates focus and execution excellence specific to cost reduction projects without sacrificing quality. Works with assigned supply base to forecast material costs and develops standard cost lists Monitor suppliers' activities to assess performance in meeting quality and delivery requirements. Develops performance metrics for assigned suppliers and works with cross-functional teams to manage supplier performance Develop and Implement contract negotiation strategy for assigned suppliers. Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers. Leads negotiations of supply agreement with assigned suppliers. Develops and manages risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers.

Qualifications:

a. Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of engineering, operations, supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing best practices in global sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance programs (ISO, FDA), ERP systems, and manufacturing related processes.
  • Strong understanding of electronics components, manufacturing processes, and quality standards relevant to medical devices.
  • Familiarity with electronic component sourcing, including PCBs, sensors, microcontrollers, and other electrical assemblies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including proven experience in use of problem solving models.
  • In-depth negotiation experience and the ability to meet cost targets.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Experience in fostering collaborative relationships with suppliers to drive innovation and cost savings.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.
  • Understanding of supply chain risks and mitigation strategies, particularly in the context of electronic component sourcing for critical medical devices.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25%.

b. Preferred or Desired:

  • Master of Business Administrator or other advanced degree

Accuray Pay Transparency Statement:

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
